Privacy Policy

1. What Mangoo does

Mangoo counts the short videos (reels, shorts, Spotlight) you watch in Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and Snapchat, shows your stats, and can lock those screens when you reach a limit you set.

2. Accessibility service

Counting and the lock screen use Android's Accessibility service. Android only sends Mangoo events from those five apps. Inside them, Mangoo reads the screen's layout IDs to find the reel that fills the screen, and a few labels in that reel, which are turned straight away into a short one-way code (a SHA-256 hash) so the same reel isn't counted twice. The labels themselves are never stored or sent.

Mangoo does not read other apps, messages, passwords, keyboard input or payment details, and never performs actions in other apps except pressing Home when you tap “Close the app” on the lock screen.

3. Stored on your phone

For each counted reel: which app, the time, seconds on screen, and whether it was watched or skipped. Your settings, limits, goals and streaks. This stays on your phone and is not backed up to the cloud unless you turn on cloud save (section 5).

4. Friends, streaks and leaderboards (optional)

If you join, Mangoo creates an account with Google Firebase, either with a nickname only or with Google sign-in. Your friends and squad members can see your display name, friend code, daily reel counts for the last 7 days, weekly average and points, level, whether tracking is on and whether you have Pro. Splats, juice and buddy unlock requests carry your display name. The global leaderboard shows your name and points only if you switch it on.

5. Google sign-in and cloud save (optional)

If you sign in with Google, Firebase receives your Google name and email to identify your account. Mangoo then backs up, privately to your account, each counted reel's time, seconds on screen, app and watched/skipped flag, plus your settings, XP, streak and freezes, so they can be restored on a new phone. Only you can read this backup.

6. Payments

Mangoo Pro is sold through Google Play. Google handles payment; Mangoo only learns whether you have an active subscription. You can cancel any time in Google Play.

7. Live badge, camera, overlay, widget and usage access

• Live badge. The badge that shows your count while you scroll is drawn by the same Accessibility service and uses only the count already on your phone.
• Camera. “Earn your scroll” uses the front camera to count squats with on-device pose detection. Frames are analysed in memory and never saved or uploaded.
• Display over other apps (optional). Used only during setup, so Mangoo can float beside Android's Accessibility settings and show where to tap. It is not used to show anything else.
• Home-screen widget. Shows today's count and mood from the data already on your phone. Nothing is sent anywhere.
• Usage access (optional). If you allow it, Mangoo reads how long the five reel apps were open today, only to estimate your count while the Accessibility service is off.

8. No ads, no selling

Mangoo shows no ads, contains no advertising or analytics SDKs, and does not sell or share your data.

9. Deleting your data

You › Delete all reel history erases everything on your phone. You › Delete my battle account removes your profile, counts, cloud backup, friendships, streaks, squad memberships, splats and unlock requests from the server. Uninstalling the app removes all local data.

10. Children

Mangoo is not directed at children under 13.
